What is Matomo Analytics?

Matomo Analytics is the most famous Open Source analytics software in the world. Created by Matthieu Aubry in 2006 it is intended to be a viable alternative to Google Analytics. Technically, Matomo does everything that other analytics software do, so to say, it collects data thanks to tracking codes, it fills a database, and then you are analyzing those data through reports. Compared to many other solutions, Matomo can be installed on the server of your choice. The source code of the software is transparent and accessible to anyone who would like to audit it.
